Karner Blue : Poems
The poems in Karner Blue explore loss, mourning, and the slow process of grief and recovery. Using the cycles of the day as a structural underpinning, the poems move from dawn to dusk, and the title poem addresses the extinction of the Karner Blue butterfly. The "Broken Haiku" sequence uses the traditional haiku form as a jumping off point the examine the damaged relationship between humans and the natural environment.
