Mark Edward Rhodes' first major collection published in 2001 was: "Towards A Field In County Fermanagh." His new book, "Approaching Darkness": Selected Poems - 1978-2015, - is the second and final part of his Selected Poems. These poems deal with some of the same themes as the first collection: Memory poems, poems about Japan and Japanese culture; while others are concerned with the author's spiritual journey, the visual arts - (Ekphrastic poems) - and several others dedicated to the Natural World. There are, of course, quite a few poems that have been culled from the poet's many travels to Ireland and the British Isles over the last thirty years.
