Lesley was born in South Africa but as a 6 week old baby her parents moved to Rhodesia where she grew up. Her English teacher awoke in her a desire to write a novel. She married and as a young mother moved onto a plantation on the Mocambique border. The war eventually struck the area where she lived. As she was very isolated all day and sometimes at night, Lesley had to learn to protect herself and her very small children. After Rhodesia became Zimbabwe the young family moved to South Africa where they settled in East London, also spending six years in the Transkei. Lesley's desire to be publsihed remained strong and she took a short story writing course, but always thinking big was not interested in short stories and turned her hand to writing novels. She loves wild life, music and antiques.
