Saint John Bosco never separated learning from life. He built his Oratory at Valdocco not as a place to receive instruction about goodness, but as a place to practice it - a home, a school, a church, and a playground all at once, animated throughout by Reason, Religion, and Loving-Kindness. The Salesian Studies Curriculum offered through the Salesian Center for Ongoing Formation (SFCB) is built on the same conviction: that formation in the Salesian charism is most fruitful when it moves continually between study and practice, between understanding a tradition and living it out in a classroom, a home, a parish, a team, or an office. This curriculum is organized into thirteen thematic Areas - among them the Salesian charism and pedagogy, the lay Salesian vocation, the history of Don Bosco, Salesian spirituality, the Salesian mission, formation and community life, leadership and team development, organizational culture, youth ministry, the formation of apostles, the art of accompaniment, preventive leadership, and the Preventive System itself. Each Area is designed to unfold across three progressive levels: a Foundational level of introductory and practically oriented courses, an Intermediate level of deeper application and analysis, and an Advanced level of research seminars and critical study. This guide presents the first forty-nine courses of that larger framework: the Foundational, Intermediate, and Advanced layers now complete across all thirteen Areas, together with the ten one-week intensives of Part III that bring the System into everyday settings. Each course is provided in two complete editions: an In-Person Edition for on-campus or workshop delivery, and an Online Delivery Edition adapted for synchronous video conferencing, hybrid models, or fully asynchronous study. Every course follows the same underlying architecture pioneered by Don Bosco himself - Reason, Religion, and Loving-Kindness - translated freshly for each context, whether that context is a 19th-century oratory or a 21st-century virtual classroom.
