CHRISTOPHER RYAN spent eight years as a Bronx crime and politics reporter, winning awards as Best News Columnist (NYS Newspaper Association), and Journalist of the Year (Children Are Precious) among others. He also earned honors in playwriting and screenwriting, wrote a few songs, served as head writer in a comedy troupe, developed a one-man show, created a sitcom considered by NBC, had a few comic books published, and co-wrote, acted in, and helped produce a couple of independent films as he developed into a novelist.And he wouldn't have it any other way. Ryan believes a reading audience deserves a story worthy of their time and has used all his experiences to create that in his short story collection CITY OF SIN, his novels CITY OF WOE and GENIUS HIGH, his contributions to the BLACKJACK adventure anthologies, and his children's series THE FERGUSON FILES. His latest, CITY OF PAIN, is a sequel to the award winning CITY OF WOE, and the second part of a trilogy, with CITY OF LOVE to follow.A graduate of St. Raymond's Elementary and Cardinal Spellman High School in The Bronx, SUNY at New Paltz, and Rutgers University's graduate program, Ryan holds a masters in English lit and creative writing.A high school teacher by day, Ryan has taught literature, journalism, creative writing, and drama, among other courses, and still gets a huge charge of energy anytime he is with his students.
