William Scott-Elliot (? - 1930) was a theosophist who elaborated Helena Blavatsky's concept of root races in several publications. In 1899 he was awarded the T. Subba Row Medal for his contributions to "esoteric science and philosophy". He was an investment banker, amateur anthropologist, and an early member of the London Lodge of the Theosophical society.
