Barbara Sillery is an award-winning television producer and script writer. Sillery is also the author of nine books of haunted folklore and legends. Her work has appeared in numerous anthologies and three of her books have been adapted for children. As the former president and owner of Lagniappe Media, her company specialized in cultural documentaries broadcast on PBS affiliates around the country. She served as a Field Producer for syndicated television shows: Extra, the Travel Channel, Strange Universe, Celebrity Justice, CBS News, and the Early show. Sillery has also contributed articles to Native Peoples, La Vie, and Louisiana Life magazines. Her accolades include the International Worldfest Awards, several Tellys, Women in Communication, and New Orleans Press Club awards, along with recognition form PBS and the American Association for State and Local History. Born on a United States Air Force Base, she grew up in New York, attended university in Pennsylvania, and raised her three daughters in New Orleans.
