Doug Smith grew up around lumbering towns, farms and ranches in Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Utah. He served in the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II.After his service he became a pilot flyng small planes. He worked in the sawmills as a Headrig Sawyer and played country music on weekends professionally.Raised cattle and Quarter Horses on his farm in Oregon.
