"This book was so helpful to me for three reasons. First, the theology of prayer behind Spurgeon's words is rooted in Scripture. Second, Spurgeon was a real man of prayer who practiced what he wrote in this book. And third, he wove these two elements--sound doctrine and daily experience--together in a style that is clear, memorable, and ever fresh. I'm grateful to Geoff Chang for bringing this material together. Breath of the Soul made me want to pray." Donald S. Whitney, Professor and Director of the Center for Biblical Spirituality, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; author of Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life "From my earliest encounter reading Charles Spurgeon's words on prayer, my heart was struck with conviction over the shallowness of my own prayer life, and yet at the same time, seeds of hope were sown of a vision for my growth.

Any believer seeking to deepen a life of prayer would do well to spend time in this book and then spend time with the One it points to." Matthew Boswell, Hymn writer; pastor, The Trails Church; professor of worship ministries, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary "Gold! As I read through Geoff Chang's new edited work of C. H. Spurgeon on prayer, Breath of the Soul , I kept finding lines that grabbed me, instructed me, inspired me, and challenged me. These short devotional thoughts on prayer will profit your soul. Highly recommended." Phil A. Newton, Director of Pastoral Care & Mentoring, The Pillar Network; coauthor of Shepherding the Pastor.
