Dr. Tangellapalli Srinivas is a Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Previously, he was a professor at the CO2 Research and Green Technologies Center of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He received his PhD from JNT University College of Engineering, Hyderabad, Telangana, in 2008 and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), Canada, in 2010 and 2013. He is the principal investigator for research projects funded by CSIR, SERB, SERB (IMPRINT), and DST.
He has industrial consulting experience in the areas of solar thermal energy and thermal systems. He has four granted patents and two copyrights and has published three patents. He has authored five books, 20 book chapters and 160 journal publications. He has edited three books and participated in 125 conference proceedings. His research interest includes solar thermal energy, advanced power generation, and polygeneration. He has guided six Ph.D. students, 40 masters theses, and 50 UG projects.
He also has four years of industrial experience in the machine tool industry. He serves on the editorial boards of the journals Recent Innovations in Chemical Engineering and Applied Solar Energy (Springer). For teaching excellence, he received the "best teacher" award in 2021 at NIT Jalandhar. In 2023, he received the Innovative Teaching Award at the 2nd Leadership Convention on "World is One," organized by the World Leadership Academy and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, Orissa. He is on the "Career-long Top 2% of World Scientists" list, compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2024.
