Shane recently spoke, at the invitation of Rick and Kay Warren, at the Global AIDS Summit for Saddleback Community Church in California.Shane currently serves on the steering committee of the United Methodist Global AIDS Fund.Shane is also the author of eight books including When God Disappears (Regal), A Positive Life (Zondervan), and The CURE for the Chronic Life (co-authored with Deanna Favre) (Abingdon Press).

Shane is married to Dr. Pokey Stanford, a former Associate Professor of Education at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS.They are the parents of three daughters, Sarai Grace, Juli Anna and Emma Leigh.
