Because of the breadth of the work done by the Sojourner Truth Organization, this title will resonate with people working on or interested in workplace organizing, GI resistance, community-based anti-police efforts, women's and reproductive rights, anti-fascist organizing, anti-nuclear and disarmament struggles, the politics of "whiteness," and youth and student radicalism. The Sojourner Truth Organization rose from the remnants of Students for a Democratic Society and drew inspiration from League of Revolutionary Black Workers--very well known organizations on the radical left--so there will be interest in the title based on those connections. While focusing on the specific trajectory of the STO in specific, this title attempts to draw lessons from the past 50 years of activism that are applicable to current political contexts, and will find an audience with anyone interested in furthering their knowledge on this chapter of history. There was a resurgence of political activism in the late 70s and early 80s that is largely forgotten, and in which the STO played a significant role.
