Alison Pearce Stevens , Ph.D., has written more than one hundred science articles for children and coauthored four National Geographic Kids books. She is also the author of Rhinos in Nebraska , which she found inspiration for through her work at the University of Nebraska State Museum. Natasha Donovan is a Métis & white illustrator originally from Vancouver, Canada, with a focus on comics and children's illustration. She illustrates the award-winning children's book series The Mothers of Xsan (written by Brett Huson). She also did the art for the graphic novel adaptation of Thomas King's story, Borders , which was shortlisted for the TD Canadian Children's Literature Award. She has a BA from the University of British Columbia, and prior to illustration she worked in academic and magazine publishing.
She lives with her partner in Bellingham, Washington.
