Robert Louis Stevenson was born on 13 November 1850 in Edinburgh. He was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist and travel writer. Despite suffering from serious bronchial illness for most of his life, he continued to travel and write extensively. His writing career witnessed a turn when he travelled to Samoa in the 1890s.
