Akron, Ohio has long been known at the "Rubber Capital of the World." Research done at universities and products developed at businesses and industry located in Northeast Ohio have made the area a world leader and focal point for the advancement of polymer science. As the science and technology continue to evolve, the existing workforce - scientists, engineers, technicians - is aging. Replacements are needed in all fields.
