I've written more than 100 books of non-fiction for the middle-grade and young adult market, for Lerner, Enslow, Red Line, Reference Point, Facts on File and other school/library publishers. Heroes in the Dark is a multi-volume series and my first work of fiction, which I began after taking an interest in pulp magazines of the 1930s and '40s and the serial novella form, in which readers are hooked by a smart premise, vividly drawn characters, razor-sharp dialogue and a cliffhanger ending--all crafted to lure them to the next monthly installment.
