BEFORE DAWN - A QUEST FOR THE HEIR AND THE SEAL Several decades ago, a black witch staged a rebellion, when the mages ruled the realms. She opened the rift, an access into the world of the living from the underworld. Nightwalkers from the underworld raided the villages and killed every living thing. While mages stood a chance, non-mages did not. The witch was stopped by a wise non-mage, with the help of a red witch and a white witch. In the event of the King's demise, a black witch was staging a fresh rebellion; she orchestrated the King's death, the assassination of his council and a fresh rupture of the rift. Her ally was the Queen, her sister. This sword and sorcery genre covers the events of the evening of the King's murder and the assassination of his council at midnight; the quest to find the rightful heir and a young man's journey to the north to avenge his mother, the next day; and a quest to stop the nightwalkers permanently, by sealing the freshly opened rift before dawn.
