Excerpt from God's Word, Man's Light and Guide: A Course of Lectures on the Bible, Before the New York Sunday School AssociationThe Course of Lectures comprising this volume was given before the New York sunday-school Association, during the past winter, 1876 - 7. At the commencement no thought of their publication was entertained; it be came apparent, however, very early in the course, that the interest awakened by them could not be satisfied by their delivery only: and in answer to the frequent and urgent requests of the Sunday-school public, application was made to the authors for their manuscripts for publi cation. The result is seen in the present volume, which is put forth with the confident expectation that not only many who were unable to hear the lectures, but a large number of those who did, will desire to preserve this vol ume among their choice reading. It should be stated, in justice to those whose names are annexed to the lectures, that each is held responsible only for the Opinions expressed by himself.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
