Azie Tesfai played DC's the Guardian on CW's Supergirl series. She not only played this superhero but wrote its debut episode. The episode "Blind Spots" was all about the protection and inclusion of those who have been marginalized and highlighting that they are their own personal superheroes. She is the first Ethiopian/Eritrean person to ever play a superhero on television, and the first CW actress to ever write for the network. Penelope Rivera Gaylord is an illustrator and visual development artist. She started her professional career in comics bus has since transitioned into the animation indutrsy, creating stories and characters for studios like Cartoon Network, Imagine Entertainment Kids and Family, and 9B Collective. She illustrated the Captain Marvel Little Golden Books and the Avengers: Battle on the Moon Little Golden Book for Penguin Random House. Born in the Phillippines, Penelope grew up in Washington, DC, area.
