Part of our IQ series which was developed as a way to integrate the Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit Principles into our books and, by extension, into classrooms. This is the fourth in the series. IQ is made up of eight guiding components. It translates roughly to "that which has long been known by Inuit". Some of those include working together for a common cause, consensus decision making, respecting the land, etc. This book explores the value of serving others. The value of serving elders specifically comes from a place of gratitude. Since elders are the ones to teach traditional knowledge and skills to younger generations, helping is a way of repaying them.
