John Townsend is a British author of children's books (fiction, nonfiction, and plays). He was a secondary school teacher, playwright, and storyteller in primary schools before concentrating on writing full-time. He is a Reading Champion for the UK's National Literacy Trust, a Reading Patron, and a frequent visitor to schools, literacy projects, and anywhere celebrating books. Kaley McKean is an illustrator based in Toronto. She received her BDes in Illustration from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2012, and since then has been working in the realms of editorial illustration, children's publishing, and product design. Her work features bright, minimal color palettes and handmade textures. She is inspired by nature, folklore, and history. Kaley lives in Toronto's west end with her husband (who is also an illustrator) Nolan Pelletier and their dog Lindy.
