Key Selling Points: The Olive Tran early reader series has received incredible praise: Book one, Every Little Bit Olive Tran, received a starred review from Quill and Quire, and rave reviews from School Library Journal, Booklist, the Canadian Children's Book News, and more. It's also been shortlisted for the 2026 Ontario Library Association Silver Birch Express Award AND the 2026 Jane Addams Children's Book Award which honours books that engage with themes of social justice and equity for all! This third book in the series continues to follow the lovable Olive Tran through her grade four year. In book one, Every Little Bit Olive Tran, Olive learns the importance of kindness when supporting her community in the face of Anti-Asian racism. In book two, Take a Breath Olive Tran, Olive has to figure out why she gets so carried away sometimes when her excitement and stress over the talent show becomes too much. And now in book three, Luckily Ever After Olive Tran, Olive is beyond excited that Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day are on the same day! That must mean something special, right? It will if Olive has something to say about it! When Olive notices how long it's been since her mom went on a date, she decides love will be in the air. What could go wrong? Olive's strong, distinct voice adds humour and personality to the stories. She's very relatable to kids and a well-rounded character: she's creative, loyal, and thoughtful, but her perfectionism, anxiety, and scheming can be too much sometimes (for herself and others). In book 3, Olive is so focused on setting up her mother for Valentine's Day, she almost misses that someone in her class has a crush on her! A multi-generational story, Olive often turns to her mother and Bà Nôi (grandmother) for support.

Olive is very much a foodie, and one way she connects with her family is through food and cooking delicious Vietnamese dishes. In Luckily Ever After Olive Tran, Olive tries to support her mother through a matchmaking scheme, as she worries her mother is lonely. Part of the scheme involves setting up her mother to bake cupcakes with the dad of one of Olive's friends. Features delightful spot illustrations by Christine Wei which help bring the story to life. She also did the illustrations for Every Little Bit Olive Tran and Truong's debut picture book Everyone is Welcome. Everyone is Welcome was a Bookstagram Picture Book Award winner for Best of Illustration!.
