Dr. RK Upadhyay received his M.Sc. Tech. degree in mineral exploration from Vikram University, India in 1986 and Ph.D. from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India, in 2010. He is an expert in the fields of remote sensing, geological exploration, quality assurance, and resource planning.

In India, he worked for MPCST, Bhopal; Tata Steel, Jamshedpur; and Bengal Energy, Kolkata, at various key executive positions for 26 years. Later, he remained as the CEO of GRM Resources, Indonesia, for 3 years and managing director of CBM Ltd., Zimbabwe, for 8 years. He has sixteen technical papers and several geological reports to his credit as a competent person from AusIMM, Australia. He has widely travelled across the globe with 37 years of field experience. He is currently a consulting geologist to various mining organizations.
