HOODMAN is a story about a guy from the wrong side of the tracks in LA. While a youngster, he was curious as to the meaning of a quotation in Latin in an Edgar Allan Poe story. To learn the quotation's meaning he took a correspondence course in Latin. Bizarrely, he interprets that acquired knowledge as an intro to the priesthood. So he became a priest. Fate, however, has it that this particular leopard cannot change its spots - his background rears its head in the first chapter when he accidentally kills a guy. After, he reasons that he should tell his bishop before the police. But he has to wait a week for that appointment.

In that week everything else happens in the story.
