In autobiographies retrieved from archives, dusty libraries, and personal interviews, Kristen Welch has examined the emerging ethos of women preachers in the IPHC to offer a legacy of hope to Christian women still struggling for full equality. In this book, Welch explores Pentecostal epistemologies formed by engagement with the Holy Spirit, a connection to Oklahoma and its people, and connections to a community of believers. Through the voices of Pentecostals living in Indian Territory in the late 19th century, the 20th century, and up to today, Welch examines what it means to be a Pentecostal woman preacher.
