Herman and Mom stop to watch a forest fire on the coast of Oregon while searching for supper. Herman becomes engrossed in the fire and swims away captivated by a firefighting helicopter with a fire bucket attached. The pilot sees Mom, but not Herman, inadvertently scooping up Herman when the bucket is replenished. Herman is then treated to a high flying, frightening, first-hand look at a raging forest fire complete with the view through the bucket bottom when the water is dumped on the fire.
