Collection of Australian short stories which include accounts of the city and the bush, tall tales and humorous parables. Largely based on the author's memories of childhood, his time around the campfire, his life in the big city and on the literary trail. One in the UQP Black Australian Writer' series. Author's maternal grandmother was of the Kooma people; his grandfathers were Irish and English. He is a full-time writer who has published essays, poetry and two other books, 'Unbranded' and 'Cattle Camp'.
