"Chances Are" is a story about second chances, and taking chances when life has dealt you a crushing blow. Tragedy doesn't necessarily mean the end of everything. Sometimes you have to dig deep to find the strength to carry on and be grateful for what you had, what is left, and once again look forward for what the future might hold. But the effort can be so worth it. This story takes place in Texas, home of the author, Edward L. White, who has lived and worked in the Houston area for over 30 years.
