He has also written for Sports Illustrated, the Wall Street Journal, the Dallas Morning News, the Washington Post, the Portland Mercury, and Portland Monthly magazine. A perfectly Ok beer league hockey player, he lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and daughter. Peter Ames Carlin is a writer and the author of several books, including Homeward Bound: The Life of Paul Simon (/i>(2016) and Bruce, a biography of Bruce Springsteen (2012). Carlin has also been a free-lance journalist, a senior writer at People in New York City, and a television columnist and feature writer at The Oregonian in Portland. A regular speaker on music, writing and popular culture, Carlin lives in Portland, Oregon.
