Excerpt from Corn Among the Indians of the Upper Missouri In preparing this study of the agriculture, and more particularly the corn culture, of the Indian tribes of the Upper Missouri region we have of course drawn items from very many sources, and we are indebted to many persons for assistance of one sort or another. In working over the material we have conducted rather extensive experiments in raising corn from the different tribes in order to gain more complete information on the varieties. For a deep and encouraging interest in the work and much material aid in the matter of furnishing seed of a great many kinds of corn we are especially indebted to Mr. M. L. Wilson of the Montana Agricultural College, State Leader of County Agents, who has also furnished some interesting data, from which we have drawn, in the Montana Experiment Station Bulletin No. 107.
