"Hi, I'm Kylee. This book, it's about me and the crazy people that take me in." The sound of tires rolling slow across the wet pavement, brakes screeching, let us know to hide. "Um, hang on." I dropped down, half in mud and water, within a ditch. A patrol car slowly rides by with their spotlight shining just above us. Thankfully the ditch I'm stuck in is deep enough to provide some cover. The cop finally moves on, so I sit up.

"So, my group, though they hate me right now, are looking to me to get them out of this mess. We got no food," I put my hand out to the rain falling all over us. "We're wet, and I have almost no idea how we're going to get to this so called safe place, some mountain, my parents were trying to get us to." I signal to my tired group, adults and children mixed together, that we gotta go. We head into the woods, out of the small town. "The problem is, we're wanted, all of us. So we keep moving, keep looking for this rebel base on that so called safe mountain.""THERE," a man's voice roars from the street we just left.

He's got his radio in his hand. "We found them!" He yells into his radio. Several more cop cars can be seen coming hauling tell down the road in an array of flashing lights."I gotta go, but check out my story; because, I lose these fools.".
