Griff Williams is a painter, publisher, gallerist, and filmmaker. He founded the beloved Gallery 16 in San Francisco, 1993-2025. His imprint G16 Editions has created twenty-five books, including bell Hooks: When I Remember I See Red, Barry Gifford: Los Quatro Reinas, Bill: Bill Berkson and Colter Jacobsen, Hal Fischer: The Gay Seventies, Jim Melchert: Where The Boundaries Are. He curated over 300 exhibitions including Lynn Hershman Leeson, William Kentridge, Jim Isermann, bell hooks, Rex Ray, Margaret Kilgallen, Mark Grotjahn, Paul Sietsema, Arturo Herrera, Darren Waterston, Michelle Grabner, and Ari Marcopoulos. He and his son Keelan made the award-winning documentary "Tell Them We Were Here" which has been screened in 12 countries, including the Centre Pompidou, SFMOMA, Orange County Museum of Art and The New Museum.
