Matthew Wolfe felt the need, the call, to write a series of loosely connected stories about mystical people and their experiences - both real and imagined. He abandoned all his other projects and allowed these stories to come to him, 18 in total. This collection is a gathering of 14 of those tales. They span prehistoric humans to the near future in a world that seems destined to destroy itself. These tales therefore ask and attempt to answer age-old questions such as "Why are we here?" "Is there an afterlife?" "A pre-life?" "What exactly is 'God'?" And, most importantly for any mystic, indeed the very thing that defines us as mystics: "How can I touch or experience God in this world?" Gentle Snow does not attempt to answer those questions. What it does do is offer ideas and experiences that may nudge the reader to further explorations and to her or his own conclusions, even as those may change from adventure to adventure.
