Canadian Rockies Alphabet was written by a woman of predominantly settler descent, who has the opportunity and privilege to live on unceded Indigenous Lands. Holding this awareness, I endeavour to find ways to move forward responsibly, with humbleness and transparency. Acknowledging past wrongs is part of being able to collaboratively build a respectful future. The Rocky Mountains have been inhabited and traversed for tens of thousands of years. Indigenous Peoples have lived, hunted, traded and created within the area covered by these mountains since long, long before the arrival of explorers and colonizers.
