Born in Pasadena and raised in Anaheim, California, Jim Turner taught math for forty years, mostly in Orange County schools but with a brief spell in Saudi Arabia. A succession of part-time, weekend, and summer jobs included the Disneyland Magic Shop, which paid off in membership at the Hollywood Magic Castle and marriage to a pretty Disneylander from the Midwest. He and Claudia, who is a choral music teacher as well as his best friend and soulmate, have three adult children and four grandchildren. Now retired, they enjoy driving America's highways, visiting other countries, singing in church choir, and volunteering for charities. Jim's lifelong penchant for writing and military history culminated in this book.
