The "Golden Hours" refers to the unique care of very low birth weight (ELBW and VLBW) neonates in the ¿rst few hours to days of life. These neonates comprise the majority of high-risk deliveries and are profoundly vulnerable. Decisions made during this crucial window of time can result in a successful transition or dramatically worse adaption to extrauterine life.
