Kelly Kane, MS, RD, LDN, CNSC, is the Director of'Nutrition and Business Operations and Dietetic Internship Director at Tufts Medical Center and Assistant Professor in the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. She has been a Registered Dietitian for more than 30 years, over which time she has worked in the clinical setting providing medical nutrition therapy for acutely ill adults and children as well as educating patients on ways to improve their health with nutrition. She has taught nutrition to health professionals including dietetic interns, physician assistants, and medical students for over 25 years. She serves as Editor of the quarterly peer-reviewed journal, Topics in Clinical Nutrition. Kelly was been awarded the 2022 Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year by the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, 2022 Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as 2020 Outstanding Dietetics Educator of the northeast region by Nutrition and Dietetics Educators and Preceptors of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Kathy Prelack, PhD, RD, LDN, is an Associate Professor at Simmons University and Adjunct Associate Professor at Tufts University with a primary academic focus on clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and interprofessional learning.
'Her research interests include energy expenditure and protein metabolism following burn injury and methods of body composition analysis in a clinical setting. Kathy is a Registered Dietitian and is currently the Director of Clinical Nutrition at Shriners Hospitals for Children, a pediatric burn and surgical specialty hospital, where she worked for over 30 years. She enjoys mentoring students, interns, and emerging investigators interested in pediatric critical care and clinical research. Kathy is actively involved in international outreach promoting the importance of early nutrition in children with burn injuries. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
