Prof. Gian Carlo Di Renzo is honorary secretary of FIGO, and professor and chair at the University of Perugia (UOP) in Italy. He is director of both the Reproductive and Perinatal Medicine Center and the Midwifery School at UOP. He is also director of the Permanent International and European School of Perinatal and Reproductive Medicine (PREIS) in Florence. He holds multiple other positions including founder & editor-in-chief of the Journal of Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Medicine based in London and corresponding editor of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an advisory board member for the March of Dimes Foundation based in New York. Further, he is a fellow ad eundem of RCOG and an honorary fellow of American COG and Indian COG. Prof.
Di Renzo is an honorary professor and doctor honoris causa at 15 different Universities throughout Europe, South America and the United States. He is an academic member of the Romanian and Russian Academy of Sciences. Prof. DiRenzo has received six international awards for his work in human reproduction and maternal-infant health, scientific research, and teaching. He has written over 1,200 papers of which more than 350 have been published in peer reviewed international journals and 80 books. He has been an invited speaker at over 1,500 national and international congresses and meetings and in academic courses in over 100 countries.
