Dr. Shovit Ranjan is Assistant Professor and neuroscientist with a demonstrated history of teaching and research in Zoology, Life Sciences & allied subjects in the colleges and universities. He is skilled in molecular neurobiology, bioinformatics, meta-analysis and various other molecular biology methods. He is strong education professional with a Bachelors and Masters in Zoology from University of Delhi and further Doctor of Philosophy (Life Sciences) focused on Molecular Neurobiology from Central University of Jharkhand. He was selected for presenting his research work on the role of BDNF in Type 2 Diabetes in Federation of European Neuroscience Society (FENS) Regional Meeting, 2017 at Pecs, Hungary and was also awarded with prestigious ICMR Travel Grant award to attend the same. Moreover, he has also qualified JRF/NET, GATE in different subjects, including Life Sciences, Animal Biotechnology & Forensic Sciences. His research expertise is in the areas of Molecular Neurobiology, Type 2 Diabetes, Bioinformatics, Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis. He has presented his findings in various national and international conferences and published several research and review articles in different peer-reviewed international journals of repute.


He has also published several book chapters in edited books published by reputed publishing house. He has good teaching and research experience in prestigious institutes, including Miranda House, University of Delhi, Delhi. Currently, he has been working as Assistant Professor in University Department of Zoology, Kolhan University, Jharkhand since 2022. He has also worked as organizing committee member and resource person in various workshops, seminars, webinars for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
