Hiba B. Wehbe-Alamah , PhD, RN, FNP-BC, CTN-A, FTNSS, FAAN is a David M. French Professor and a Michigan Distinguished Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Michigan-Flint. As a transcultural nursing scholar and fellow with advanced transcultural nursing certification, Dr. Wehbe-Alamah has been nationally and internationally recognized for her contributions to transcultural nursing and healthcare. She is a prolific author, presenter, and consultant and has contributed to 80 publications including 40 articles, 36 book chapters, and four books. She is the coauthor of Leininger's Culture Care Diversity and Universality: A Worldwide Nursing Theory (2015), and Leininger's Transcultural Nursing: Concepts, Theories, Research, & Practice (2018). She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Distinguished Professor of the Year Award (2019) by the Michigan Association of State Universities, the Arab American of the Year Award (2018) by the Arab American Heritage Council, the Madeleine M.


Leininger's Award (2015) by the Transcultural Nursing Society, and the Angel of Mercy Award (2014) by the National American Arab Nurses' Association, among many others. Marilyn R. McFarland, PhD, RN, CTN-A, FNP-BC, FTNSS is a David M. French Professor Emerita in the School of Nursing at the University of Michigan-Flint. As a certified transcultural nurse and as a transcultural nursing author and scholar, Dr. McFarland has been nationally and internationally recognized for her contributions to transcultural nursing and healthcare. She is the coauthor of Leininger: Culture Care Diversity and Universality: A Worldwide Nursing Theory (2006), Transcultural Nursing: Concepts, Theories, Research, & Practice (2002), Leininger's Culture Care Diversity and Universality: A Worldwide Nursing Theory (2015), and Leininger's Transcultural Nursing: Concepts, Theories, Research, & Practice (2018).
