Victor Shikuku is a Lecturer in the Department of Physical Sciences at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) in Kenya. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Maseno University (Kenya). In 2017-2018 he was a visiting scholar at CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) in India under the prestigious C.V Raman International Fellowship for African Researchers. In 2019, he undertook a postdoctoral research visit at Trier University in Germany, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He serves as the research group leader on materials research for water treatment at Kaimosi Friends University.


He is also a member of the Technical Committee (TC) on Water Quality at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). His research entails low-carbon cementitious materials (geopolymers) and their applications in water treatment and as building materials, carbonaceous materials for water purification, environmental chemistry, emerging contaminants, food safety, biodegradation of pesticides and antibiotics in soil and associated antimicrobial resistance patterns, and climate change adaptation. Dr. Shikuku has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles including, book chapters and an edited book and is a well-cited scholar.
