Bradford Haami lives in West Auckland. He is Ngati from Whakatane, with strong family links to Ngati Kahungunu, Tuwharetoa, Ngati Apa and Kai Tahu tribes. He has served at Auckland, Victory Christian Church since 1998 till 2016. Today he attends the Messianic congregation Beth Melekh in Henderson. He is currently studying indigenous theology at Laidlaw College and has lectured here on biculturalism. He has been involved in reconciliation ministry since 2012. He is an accomplished Maori author, journalist and lecturer with added experience in film and television media. He self-published True Red; The Life of an ex-Mongrel Mob Gang Leader(2004) and Ka Mau Te Wehi Taking Haka To The World, which won the 2013 Nga Kupu Ora Best Maori Biography of the Year Award.


In 2016 he published The River of the Waters of Life: A Biography of Ike Samuels a missionary to Papua New Guinea. He has just recently completed a book on the implementation of cultural safety into the mainstream New Zealand hospital system and another on the history of Maori urban migration since World War II. Both are to be published in 2018. His services were crucial to the making of the acclaimed tv thriller series Mataku, the cinema film Tracker and more recently the Maori film Mahana. He was also the researcher/writer for the acclaimed Kiingitanga: the untold story (2015/2016) a tv series for Maori Television. Besides being a writer, he is currently the Maori curator in the concept development for the renewal of the Natural History Exhibition for Te Papa.
