Restoring Sediment Pathways: A Resilient Landscape Vision for the Adobe Creek Baylands synthesizes science and community priorities into a nature-based approach for improving the resilience and ecological functioning of, and community and Tribal access to, the Adobe Creek Baylands. Grounded in the knowledge of how creeks and tides once worked together across this landscape, this Vision advocates for a management approach that leverages sediment and hydrology to build a resilient landscape for both people and wildlife. The Vision identifies a set of interconnected short- and long-term actions for the Adobe Creek Baylands. These actions demonstrate how connecting lower Adobe Creek to adjacent marshes, reusing dredged sediment, restoring tidal exchange, and adapting public access could collectively reduce flood risk, support wildlife, and create a more accessible and enduring landscape along the Petaluma River.
