Dr. Khaled Morsi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, San Diego State University, US. He earned his Doctorate in 1996 from the Department of Materials, University of Oxford, UK, and has taught materials science and engineering for over 25 years. He has taught various topics, including Materials Science and Engineering, Nanomaterials, Powder metallurgy, Materials, Design and Manufacturing, Advanced Materials Processing, and Thermodynamics. Dr. Morsi has received multiple awards for his teaching and mentorship of students. He has advised over 150 Ph.D.
, MS, and undergraduate students in materials research. His research focuses on the processing and properties of metals, intermetallics, nanomaterials, and their composites. Dr. Morsi has published extensively in the field and is in the top 1 % most cited scientists in Materials according to the Stanford/Elsevier top 2% Scientists in Materials. He has served as Associate Editor for the ASME Journal-Engineering Materials and Technology (JEMT) and is on the editorial board of other materials journals. He also served as Chair of the Powder Materials Committee and the Advanced Characterization, Testing, and Simulation Committee at The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS).
