Chloe Henderson and her family moved into a long since abandoned lake house during the summer of 2010 with the hopes of a relaxing break from their normal day-to-day life. The first few months were just that-relaxing. The house backed up to Alpine Lake, which made for a great spot to swim, especially during the hotter months. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts to deny it, things began to change. One afternoon, while decorating her room, Chloe finds a hidden compartment with an old notebook inside. It looked ancient. As she makes her way through the entries, she begins to get a picture of what happened here before, and realizes it may be happening again. The hidden library she had discovered held a dark secret-one so sinister it would threaten Chloe and everyone she knows.
If this had happened before, why hadn't they heard about it prior to moving into the house? As things continue to worsen at the lake house, and Chloe reaches the final entries of the diary, the culmination of the horrible events that may leave her traumatized for life unfold in a gruesome, blood chilling manner almost too bizarre to believe.
