Dr. Elena Cerro-Prada received her PhD in Physics from the Autonoma University of Madrid. She lectured at the University of Birmingham, UK, and worked at CERN within the Nobel Laureate Carlo Rubia, among other research and academic positions. Dr Cerro-Prada currently serves as Professor and Head of the Physics Department at the Technical University of Madrid. Dr. Cerro-Prada has contributed greatly to the understanding of cementitious materials microstructure by applications of nanotechnology and nanomaterials. She is currently involved in the development of cement-based materials with photocatalytic properties as long as agent-based cementitious material modeling.
