David William Spitzer is a principal of Spitzer and Boyes, LLC, where he is a consultant practicing instrumentation, flow, measurement, and process control engineering. In addition, he provides product development, marketing, and distribution channel services. He was previously the Manager of Utility and Instrumentation Engineering at Nepera, Inc., Harriman, NY, where he was responsible for technical support and direction in the electrical, instrumentation, and utility areas on a plant-wide basis. Mr. Spitzer serves on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' Committee on Measurement of Fluid Flow in Closed Conduits. He is also a member of the editorial advisory board of INTECH, INTECH Brasil, and Flow Control magazines. A frequent instructor at the ISA Training Center in Raleigh, NC, and throughout the United States and internationally in the Short Course Program, Mr.
Spitzer is the author of Variable Speed Drives, Principles and Applications for Energy Cost Savings. He is also Volume Editor of Flow Measurement, part of ISA's Practical Guides for Instrumentation and Control Series and author of various books about flowmeters in "The Consumer's Guide to." series.
