Chaplain (Major) James F. Linzey, U.S. Army (Ret.), is a twenty-four-year military veteran whose chaplaincy ministry spans more than three decades across multiple branches of the United States Armed Forces. He is the only chaplain known to have served with the U.S. Air Force, U.

S. Army, and U.S. Navy, including four years of post-retirement ministry under successive Naval Command Chaplains at the Airman-Marine Memorial Chapel, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar-long known as the historic "Home of Top Gun." He also served as State Chaplain of California for two military officers' organizations. Few chaplains in modern American history have served so broadly across Army, Air Force, and Navy-Marine Corps communities, providing Chaplain Linzey with a rare vantage point into the spiritual, ethical, and cultural life of America's warriors. His professional military education includes Air University and the U.S.

Army Command and General Staff College, preparing him for senior leadership in joint-service environments. His assignments included service as Command Chaplain for Operation Iraqi Freedom II at Fort Bliss, Texas, overseeing religious support for approximately 10,000 joint-service personnel; Command Chaplain for Operation Noble Eagle II (Southwest Region), directing ministry across twelve military installations; Command Chaplain for the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School, Western Region (selected twice); and the first full-time chaplain for the U.S. Army Cadet Command Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky. During that assignment, he was commissioned to write the Official U.S.

Army Cadet Command Prayer, recognized as only the fourth official institutional military prayer. Chaplain Linzey is Chief Editor of the Modern English Version (MEV) of the Holy Bible, editor of The Military Bible and The Leader's Bible, and composer of Creator of the Universe, the official hymn of the United States Space Force. His editorial work includes Manchuria to Midway, by his father, Captain Stanford E. Linzey, Jr., CHC, USN (Ret.), a survivor of the Battle of Midway. Chaplain Linzey serves as Chief of Chaplains (Colonel) of the United States National Defense Corps and President of the Military Bible Association.
