Mark is a startup founder & advisor, community builder, and author of the book Community-in-a-Box who is based in NYC & Taipei but mostly found on a plane. He is currently building TribeROI, an AI tech startup to enable businesses to measure the health and impact of their communities. He was formerly the Global Startup Advocate at Amazon Web Services (AWS), helping startups & founders across the world to build and scale on AWS. While there, he created The AWS Startups Show, a live audio show that hosted over 300 shows featuring top startup founders and builders that reached 100,000 listeners. He started Founders in the Cloud, a weekly newsletter read by over 7,000 subscribers about the startup journey. He also founded the Enterprise Sales Forum, a global community of 30,000 B2B sales professionals who met in person and virtually through local chapters to network with peers, collaborate, level up their sales skills, and find new opportunities. Previously, Mark was at Stack Overflow to help launch their Enterprise B2B Q&A platform and then led efforts to expand the business in APAC. Prior to Stack Overflow, he made the jump from the corporate world to launch a startup to reinvent the HR industry.
Before his startup, he worked at a diverse group of leading technology companies, including Oracle and Siebel, in a variety of roles from technical sales to software engineering as an individual contributor and manager. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. When not working, he likes to explore street food from across the globe, and he can usually be seen rocking out to extreme metal.
