Prof. Tadeusz KuczyÅski graduated in 1976 from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Wroclaw University of Technology, where he earned his PhD in 1980 and was awarded the academic title of professor in 2003. Since 1999, he has been associated with the University of Zielona Góra, where he held various leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (2002-2008), Deputy-Rector for Science and International Cooperation (2008-2012), and Rector (2012-2020). His research focuses on indoor climate and energy consumption in buildings, pollutant emissions (particularly nitrogen compounds) and their environmental impact, energy efficiency in buildings, and renewable energy engineering. In the last five years, Prof. KuczyÅski has co-authored numerous articles published in leading journals. His active research output, leadership in high-impact projects, and commitment to sustainable development position Prof. KuczyÅski as a leading expert in sustainable architecture, energy efficiency, and environmental engineering.


Prof. Anna Staszczuk is a professor at the Institute of Civil Engineering, University of Zielona Góra, and since 2024, Head of the Department of General Construction and Building Physics. Her expertise lies in building physics, energy efficiency in buildings, heat energy storage, and renewable energy applications. She graduated with an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Zielona Góra in 2001, earned a PhD in Environmental Control from the University of Agriculture in Krakow in 2011, and obtained habilitation in Environmental Engineering from the University of Zielona Góra in 2023. She also completed postgraduate studies at the Warsaw University of Technology and various specialized training courses. Prof. Staszczuk is the author of a book on using the thermal mass of building envelopes to improve indoor thermal comfort during heat waves. She has authored and co-authored nearly 50 research papers, including publications in high-impact journals.


Her research focuses on indoor microclimate control, passive adaptation strategies, the influence of building thermal mass on overheating, and life cycle assessment (LCA) for sustainable construction. She has maintained a 12-year scientific collaboration with Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany, in the field of green energy research. As a coordinator and researcher, she has been actively involved in numerous international and national research and educational projects, including those funded by INTERREG and the National Centre for Research and Development, addressing energy efficiency in buildings, modern energy storage solutions, and hydrogen technologies. She teaches courses in energy-efficient building design, sustainable construction, and building physics for civil engineering and architecture students. Dr. Marta Gortych is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zielona Góra, specializing in environmental engineering, heat transfer, and energy storage technologies. She earned her PhD in 2018, focusing on the solidification processes of phase change materials (PCM) in annular systems. Her research interests include building energy efficiency, passive cooling strategies, and the impact of climate change on indoor thermal conditions.


She has authored numerous publications in high-impact journals, and her studies cover various aspects of building thermal analysis across different climate zones, the effectiveness of passive cooling solutions, solar chimney performance, and the application of PCM in enhancing building resilience to heat waves. She actively participates in international research projects and coordinates Polish-German initiatives on energy storage and sustainable mobility. She is also a co-organizer of the Environmental Engineering and Design international conference and regularly presents her work at major scientific conferences on modern building technologies and environmental engineering. As an educator, she teaches courses in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and technical mechanics. Her commitment to academic excellence has been recognized through multiple Rector''s Awards from the University of Zielona Góra and the Minister''s Award for significant achievements in teaching. Dr. Anna BocheÅska-SkaÅecka is an Assistant Professor at the WrocÅaw University of Life Sciences and a practicing architect. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at WrocÅaw University of Technology and has been professionally active as an architect since 2008, holding unrestricted design licenses in the architectural specialisation and running her own design practice.


Since 2010, she has been affiliated with the WrocÅaw University of Life Sciences, and between 2011 and 2018 she also lectured at the Angelus Silesius State Higher Vocational School in WaÅbrzych. She currently holds a research and teaching position in the Department of Landscape Architecture, where she was also Head of the Study and Design Studio from 2011 to 2021. Dr. BocheÅska-SkaÅecka is a certified Design Thinking Moderator and an active representative of the Lower Silesian Professional Chamber of Architects. Her academic and professional work focuses on the integration of contemporary architecture with landscapes of high natural and cultural value, the design of low-energy and energy-efficient buildings, sustainable urban planning, and the application of inventive and creative design methodologies. She is the author of several scientific and popular science publications addressing landscape-oriented architectural design and sustainability. A native of WrocÅaw, she remains strongly connected to the cultural and environmental heritage of Lower Silesia, which consistently informs both her research and design practice.
